About Synchronized Skating at Norwich
Our synchronized skating teams consists of 9 - 20 skaters on the ice at one time skating together in unison. Depending on the level of the team, required formations and elements include circles, lines, blocks, wheels and intersections, all of which are performed in perfect unison, choreographed precisely to music. The NISC synchronized skaters make up 3 separate teams:
Ice Candy is our adult team. Currently there are 17 skaters on the team. All members of the adult team must be at least 21 years of age and must have completed NISA's SkateUK level 10.
Ice Magic and the Polar Penguins are our two elementary teams. The skaters can have no more than level one field moves and must be below the age of 21. Ice Magic skaters are primarily teen-agers with a little more skating experience, many of them currently working on the SkateUK Passport levels or Level 1. The Polar Penguins are our younger skaters newly introduced to ice skating and working toward the NISA SkateUK levels.
